Privacy Policy – RGPV PYQ & Notes

Privacy Policy

App: RGPV PYQ & Notes (Android) · Developer: IrfanEdu · Effective date: 10 October 2026

This policy explains what information the RGPV PYQ & Notes app (“the app”, “we”) collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. The app is an independent study aid for RGPV B.Tech, B.Pharmacy and Diploma students. It is not an official app of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) — see our Disclaimer.

1. No account

You can use the app without signing up. To read papers, notes, syllabus and time tables we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, roll number or any other personal details. Only if you choose to upload a paper or notes do we ask for your name, college and WhatsApp number (see below). We do not access your contacts, camera, microphone or location.

2. Information collected

  • Advertising (Google AdMob). The app shows ads through Google AdMob. Google may collect your device’s advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, approximate location derived from the IP address, and how you interact with ads. This is used to show, measure and limit ads and to prevent fraud. Where required (for example in the EEA and UK) the app asks for your consent through Google’s consent message before any personalised ads are shown. Learn more in How Google uses information from apps that use its services.
  • Downloading papers, notes, syllabus and time tables. These files are delivered through Cloudflare. Like any web server, it processes your IP address and the time of the request to deliver the file and protect the service. We do not combine this with any other information about you.
  • Papers and notes you choose to upload. If you use “Upload paper”, “Upload notes” or “Upload important questions”, we receive the PDF file you pick, the course, semester, branch and subject you select, and the details you type in: your name, college name and WhatsApp number. Your name and college are shown in the app next to your upload once it is approved (“Shared by <name>, <college>”), which you agree to before submitting. Your WhatsApp number is never shown in the app; we use it only to contact you about your upload or a reward, including the semester-end lucky draw (see the lucky draw rules). If you win, your name and college are shown in the app’s winners list. These details are saved on your phone so you do not have to type them again. Your IP address is used only for a short time to stop abuse (rate limiting) and is not stored. Please do not upload documents that contain your roll number or other personal information.
  • Emails you send us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply to you.

3. How uploads are used

Every uploaded file is checked by us before anything is published. Approved papers and notes are added to the app for all users to view, together with your name and college as credit, and are listed on the app’s Contributors page. Papers are published with file metadata removed; notes and important questions may be published as you uploaded them, so please remove anything personal from your PDF before uploading. Files that are not approved are not published and are deleted within 90 days. Your name, college and WhatsApp number are kept in our private storage (Cloudflare R2 for papers, our own Google Drive and Google Sheets for notes and important questions) and an email notification to us, and are not shared with anyone else. To have an upload, your credit, or your details removed, email us.

4. Information stored on your device

  • The list of available papers, so the app opens quickly and works offline.
  • The number of free paper opens left after watching a rewarded video.
  • PDFs are kept in the app’s private storage only while you view them and are deleted when you close the viewer. Screenshots and screen recording are blocked inside the app.

Uninstalling the app or clearing its data removes all of this.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your information. Information is shared only with the service providers named above (Google AdMob for ads, Cloudflare for hosting and delivery, Google Drive for storing uploaded notes and backups, Resend and Gmail for delivering upload notifications to our own email), who process it under their own privacy policies, or when required by law.

6. Children

The app is intended for college students and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your choices

  • You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads in your Android settings (Google → Ads / Privacy → Ads).
  • You can change your ad consent choice where the app offers it.
  • You can ask us to delete a paper or notes you uploaded, remove your name from it, delete your WhatsApp number, or delete any email you sent us.

8. Security

Files are transferred over encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we handle.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
