PDF Editor & Tools (Android app, package com.irfanedu.freepdftool)
Effective date: 17 October 2026
- Your PDFs and images are processed only on your phone. We never upload, read or store them on any server.
- There is no sign-up or account. We do not collect your name, email or phone number.
- The app shows ads from Google AdMob. Google may collect some device data to show ads, as described below.
This Privacy Policy explains how IrfanEdu (“we”, “us”) handles information in the PDF Editor & Tools app (the “App”). By using the App you agree to this policy.
1. Your files and documents
All tools in the App (editing, converting, merging, splitting, compressing, protecting, unlocking, adding page numbers and watermark removal) run entirely on your device.
- We do not upload your files to any server. We cannot see, access or share them.
- While a tool is working, the App keeps temporary copies of the files you picked in its private storage, which other apps cannot read. These copies are deleted automatically when you leave the tool, start over, or restart the App.
- Files you choose to download are saved to your phone’s
Download/PDF Editor & Toolsfolder. They stay on your device and under your control; the App never deletes them. - Passwords you type to protect or unlock a PDF are used only on your device for that operation and are never stored or sent anywhere.
2. Information we collect
We, the developer, do not collect any personal information. The App has no login, no analytics of our own and no server of our own.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The App is supported by ads served by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC. To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK built into the App may automatically collect and process:
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Advertising ID and other device identifiers | Showing and measuring ads, frequency capping, fraud prevention |
| Approximate location (derived from your IP address) | Showing ads relevant to your region, fraud prevention |
| App interactions (for example ad views and clicks) | Ad measurement and analytics |
| Diagnostics and crash data of the ads SDK | Keeping ads working reliably |
This data is collected and processed by Google, not by us, and is encrypted in transit. Learn more:

- Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy
You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads at any time in your phone’s settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
4. Consent for users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent through Google’s consent form before any ad is requested. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the privacy icon on the App’s home screen.
5. Permissions used by the App
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Only to load ads. Your files are never sent over the internet. |
| Advertising ID | Used by Google AdMob as described above. |
| Storage (Android 9 and older only) | To save your finished files to the Download folder. On Android 10 and newer no storage permission is needed. |
The App does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone, SMS or precise location. Files are opened only when you pick them yourself with the system file picker.
6. Links to other apps
The App contains links to our other apps on Google Play. Tapping them opens Google Play, which is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
7. Data retention and deletion
Because we do not collect personal data, we hold nothing to delete. Temporary file copies are removed automatically as described in section 1, and uninstalling the App removes all of its private data from your device. For data collected by Google for advertising, see Google’s privacy controls at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy.
8. Security
Processing your files on your device, instead of on a server, means your documents never leave your phone through the App. Protected PDFs are encrypted with AES-256.
9. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the DPDP Act in India), you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal data and to withdraw consent. Since we do not collect personal data, most requests concern data processed by Google for ads; you can exercise those through the consent option in the App and Google’s privacy controls linked above. You may also contact us at any time.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
