Privacy Policy – Image Tool
1. Your photos and files
- When you choose a photo, the app reads it through the Android photo picker or the “Share” menu and processes it in your phone’s memory. This includes background removal, enhancing, object erasing, resizing, compressing, converting, design tools and image-to-PDF.
- Your photos are not uploaded, stored or shared by us. The original photo is never changed or deleted.
- Images you save are written to Pictures/Image Tool and PDFs to Downloads/Image Tool on your device. These files belong to you. The app does not delete them, and they remain if you uninstall the app.
- When you use the Share button, a temporary copy is placed in the app’s private cache so the app you share to can read it. This copy is deleted the next time you share or open the app.
- Text you type, such as watermark, logo or poster text, is used only to draw the image and is not saved or sent anywhere.
2. Information we collect
We, the developer, do not collect, store or sell any personal information. The app has no sign-up, no login and no server of its own.
3. Third-party services
The app uses the following Google services. They may collect data as described in their own policies.
| Service | Purpose | Data it may collect |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Shows banner, interstitial and rewarded video ads | Advertising ID and other device identifiers, IP address (used for approximate location), app interactions such as ad views and taps, crash logs and diagnostics. This data is collected and may be shared with Google and its ad partners for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. We do not receive or see it. |
| Google User Messaging Platform | Asks for ad consent where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland) | Your consent choice and device information |
| Google ML Kit (via Google Play services) | On-device background removal. The AI model is downloaded by Google Play services and runs on your phone. | Your photos are not sent. Google may collect basic usage and performance information about the feature. |
| Google ML Kit Document Scanner (via Google Play services) | The “Scan documents” camera screen in Image to PDF. Google Play services shows the scanner, which finds the page edges, crops and cleans the photo on your phone. | Your scans are not sent to us or to Google servers. Google may collect basic usage and performance information about the feature. The app does not need camera permission because the scanner runs inside Google Play services. |
Learn how Google uses data: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Your choices about ads
- To reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalised ads, open Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) on your phone.
- If you are in a region where consent is required, you can choose whether to allow personalised ads when the consent form appears.
5. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet and network state | Only to load ads and the Google background-removal model. Photos are never sent. |
| Camera | Not requested by this app. Scanning documents opens Google’s scanner, which uses the camera itself and asks you directly. Scans stay on your phone. |
| Storage (Android 9 and older only) | To save your edited images and PDFs to your gallery and Downloads folder |
The app uses the Android photo picker, so it does not need permission to read all of your photos. It only sees the photos you choose.
6. Children
Image Tool is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the ads in this app, please contact us and we will help.
7. Data retention and deletion
We do not hold any of your data on our own servers, so there is nothing for us to delete. Images and PDFs you saved stay in your gallery and Downloads folder until you delete them yourself. Uninstalling the app removes its private cache. Data collected by Google is handled under Google’s own retention policies. You can manage it at myaccount.google.com and reset your advertising ID in your phone settings.
8. Security
Photos are processed on your device and are not transmitted. Communication between the app and Google services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, the CCPA in California or the DPDP Act in India, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because we do not collect personal data, requests about ad data should be sent to Google. You can still contact us with any question.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The new version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
